At 'Dance in Motion' we offer our participants the chance to take the Btec Dance Level 2 qualification. This qualification is awarded by the Edexcel examing body and the award is equivilant to two GCSE grades.
This qualification allows participants to gain two recognised GCSE's grading as follows:
PASS = 2 x C's, MERIT = 2 x B's, DISTINCTION = 2 x A's
The qualification is open to any participant that is aged 13yrs+ and attends dance classes at the studios. You will experience a range of dance style throughout the course including Urban Dance, Bollywood,Rock 'n' Roll, Contempoary and learn about the history of dance forms.
You will gain many different learning experiences during the course from theory lessons to pratical workshops with guest teachers who are specialists in their areas. If you would like to learn more about dance and at the same time gain some recognised qualifications then this course is for you.
All of our BTEC DANCE students are entered through The Chase Technology College but all of the course tuition takes place at the Dance in Motion Studios. We strive to maintain good relationships with local schools allowing us to continue to offer our students these extra qualifications in a subject specific environment.
A small fee is payable each month for your tuition and also a registration fee is payable to the school. For more information please contact Gemma Hinton.
A good interest in Dance and enthusiasm is needed in order to complete the course and gain the desired grades.

Boyz in Motion
Our boys performance group has proven very popular and allows boys to learn together. This group mainly concentrate on Urban dance styles and freestyling.

This is our competitive pom dance and cheer dance squad. This squad also perform at local events. We also cover street cheer in this squad. Entry is by audition only.

Girlz in Motion
This performance group is for girls aged between 7yrs and 12. This group concentrate manly on Urban Dance styles and also add some musical theatre in some routines.
Cheerbeez
The Cheerbeez is a new cheer squad for participants aged 8-12yrs who wish to take there cheerleading to the next level. Entry is by tryout only.
The CheerBeez are a unique squad mixing pom dance, street cheer and cheerleading.
Cheerleaders Elite
The cheerleaders elite squad is our senior cheerleading squad which perform at all Worcester Warriors home matches.This team perform regulary in the local area and at Malvern theatres.

Victoria Young - Teacher
Victoria has been dancing since a very young age and trained in a variety of dance styles including Ballet, Tap, Modern, Street Dance, Gym Dance and Cheerleading. Victoria has gained her level 4 BCA cheerleading and Street Dance Teacher IDTA qualifications. Victoria has also been a keen gymnast throughout her life and recently she has launched Gym Dance lessons at the studios. Victoria continues to teach some dance classes at the studios and is making plans to expand the Gym Dance and creative movement timetable.
Gemma Hinton - Principal and Founder
Gemma founded Dance in Motion in Sept 2008 and teaches full time for the company. Gemma is a qualified Cheerleading coach level 4 BCA (British Cheerleading Association) and Level 3 UKCA (United Kingom Cheerleading Association). Also Gemma has gained her associate with the IDTA (International Dance Teachers Association) allowing her to enter candidates for exams in a variety of dance styles. In June 2010 Gemma became a ZIN member and a qualified Zumba instructor and now offers these classes at the studios. Gemma has gained a BSc Sports Studies and Physical Education degree focusing on dance education and gymnastics. Gemma continues to play a huge role in the educational delivery in Malvern and now Dance in Motion offers the BTEC dance course to students. Also Gemma delivers in school dance lessons including GCSE and BTEC support along with extra cirricular dance clubs and activities. After many years of performing in both amatuer and professional shows, attending dance training and furthering her dance qualifications, Gemma is now dedicated to teaching her students and helping them reach their true dance potential. She believes every pupil is a star!
Jessica Burton - Assistant/Teacher
Jessica has been dancing with the company for a number of years and has recently started to gain teaching qualifications. Jessica has gained her level 2 Cheerleading and Dance qualifications with the British Cheerleading Association and is currently studying to gain further IDTA teaching qualifications. Jessica leads the dance entertainment at our childrens birthday parties . Jessica is also a member of the 'Cheer Elite' and 'Performers Elite' performance groups.
Our Facilities...............
Recently in April we moved to our new studios. All of our studios are fully equiped for dancers from amatuer to professional. Our main Studio has a fully sprung floor, full length mirrors and sound system. Studios 2 and 3 have semi-sprung floors, full length mirrors and sound systems. We have a waiting area fitted with a live video veiwing facility so you can watch your children without distracting them to maximise their concentration in lessons.
We are currently looking for staff to fill the following positions:
Part Time Dance Teacher
Must be qualified with a recognised dance governing body. Street dance and cheerleading qualifications would be desirable but not essential. A good knowledge of ballet, tap and modern would be advantageous.
Singing Teacher
We require a fully qualified singing teacher to join our
team. The job role would include one to one lessons, groups sessions and educational work.
LAMDA Tecaher
We require a fully qualified LAMDA teacher to join our team. This job role would include one to one lessons, small group sessions and involvement throughout the dance in motion timetable in relevent areas.

The Girlz in Motion performance group is made up of female members aged 7-12yrs. This group have performed at many local events and they plan to be out and about in 2011/2012 so keep your eyes peeled. The group focus on a range of dance styles including street dance, hip hop etc. We hold auditions twice a year to give other students the opportunity to become a member of this group.
From September Girlz in Motion Training Sessions will be held on Friday evenings 4.45-5.15pm.

The Cheerleaders Elite squad are our performance and competitive cheer squad. The elite squad is made up of 20 members. This team cover a variety of cheer styles including Cheerleading, Cheer Dance, Pom Dance and Street Cheer. The elite squad perform at many local and regional events including Worcester Warriors home fixtures. If you want to see what we do you are more than welcome to come and watch any of our performances or contact the studios for further information.
The Performers Elite group has recently formed and is for participants aged 13yrs - adult and entrance to this group is by audition only. The group work on performance pieces in a range of styles including street dance, musical theatre and jazz. Auditions for this group will be held twice and year and keep an eye on this page for dates and times.
