Miss Millie (Millicent) Haywood -
(NATD, BGU, BA(Hons))
Miss Millie spent her childhood in Worcester studying
drama and performing arts and continued to develop
a true passion for the industry. She was also a member of many drama groups, including Vamos young people’s theatre company in 2014. This is a mask theatre company where she performed in the production of the “Projectionist” which was funded by the (Heritage Lottery Funded project.) Miss Millie continued to perform locally in many amateur dramatic performances.
As a teenager Miss Millie joined the Dance in Motion Academy (never too late to start) where she discovered her love for dance. Throughout her time at the Academy she gained many graded and vocational examinations in Classical Ballet (IDTA) and Tap (NATD). Miss Millie also attended classes in Jazz and Musical Theatre. She regularly appeared in annual shows with the Academy at Malvern Festival Theatre, charity performances and took part in many dance/ performing arts trips.
Miss Millie decided after completing her A-Levels that she wanted to gain a degree in Musical Theatre. After a successful audition, she went on to train at The Hammond School in Chester. She gained a BA (Hons) in Musical Theatre Performance.
During her time at The Hammond, she took part in daily Dance, Drama and Singing classes furthering her training and knowledge in all areas. She has been very lucky to participate in a range of performances including Musicals, Plays and Showcases during her time at The Hammond. Miss Millie is currently a Member of the National Youth Film Academy 2021, allowing her to continue her training with film industry professionals on a regular basis.
We are very excited that Miss Millie is returning to the Academy as a Teacher and she can't wait to share her passion of Dance and Performing Arts with you all. She continues to complete regular CPD and further courses to enable her to be the best teacher she can be!
